Hus Traditional Ceremony (horse riding)
It is gratitude for the blessings gained from the harvest of rice fields, fields, and marine products. From this ceremony, they can find out when there is the rain and when to harvest in the next year. Implemented in Boni Village, Kec. In the Northwest of Rote from the end of July to mid-August (depending on the moon). Track distance for that ceremony is about 3.2 kilometers. The Hus traditional ceremony starts and ends with a traditional dance.
In Rote people also celebrate independence day on August 17th. After the independence ceremony, usually, people are playing games and have small competitions, like walking with a spoon in the mouth, on the spoon we put a marble and keep walking from start to finish. In this game, you have to make sure the marble doesn’t fall to the ground. There are many other games like the sack race.
